We meet almost every Wednesday evening (see the Blog for exceptions) at the Prayer Space for Agapai, an informal time of friendship, food and worship. A shared meal (usually provided by one of the members) is one of the oldest known forms of Christian fellowship, dating back to the early church.
We eat at 8pm, then at 8:45 we share worship in a different style each week. We currently alternate a traditional but informal Eucharist, a reflective Compline and a meditative Taize style service, with occasional Prayer Vigils for special intentions such as Climate Change.
Our worship calendar is decided by the group, and as a fresh expression of church, we’re always interested in trying out new creative ideas.
We often have film screenings or follow a course; for Lent 2019 we watched series 3 of the BBC’s Rev and discussed the issues that came up. Then we celebrated Easter with a dawn barbecue by the river.
Whoever you are and wherever you are on your journey, you are welcome. Join us for a warm welcome, friendship, and sustenance for body, mind and spirit. New or potential members please email Barbara for details.
