Jane Petrie

We are pleased to announce that The Reverend Jane Petrie has been appointed as Ordained Minister for Greenwich Peninsula in the East Greenwich Team Ministry. Subject to satisfactory completion of the necessary procedures, she will take up the post following her licensing on Wednesday 22nd April. Jane is currently based near Croydon, at Springfield Church in Wallington, where she has been Curate since June 2016.

She is passionate about building community and finding creative ways to explore faith and culture, underpinned by the invitation offered by a God of infinite grace and love. She is excited to get to know Greenwich Peninsula, making connections and exploring how the church can show God’s love and foster community in this diverse and fast-changing place.

Jane trained for ordination at Cranmer Hall in Durham, and thus no longer thinks that everywhere north of Oxford is ‘in the North’.

Before training for ordination, she studied History and worked in Marketing for Macmillan Publishers for five years and as a pastoral assistant in Pimlico for three. On days off, Jane enjoys creative pursuits of various kinds – drawing, creative writing and craft of any description. She also likes taking advantage of London’s cultural opportunities, spending time with friends and travelling to interesting places.

Jane says, ‘I am hugely excited about coming to join you in Greenwich, and to gather together with others who want to see God’s kingdom come on the Peninsula. To pray and worship on the Peninsula; to build community and see how God is calling us to get to know the different existing communities; to try new things and to invite others to meet the God who calls and transforms. It’s a collective calling – but I can’t wait to be a part of it.’
